Licensing Existing Images
Many of the photographs I take and artwork I produce, including some material on this site, can be licensed for third-party use, whether editorial or commercial in nature. Some of them are licensed out via stock photography agencies, including Alamy, Adobe Stock, Shutterstock, Dreamstime and others.
If you are interested in licensing my work, you can view my profiles on the above stock agency websites and purchase licensing through them, or you can contact me directly about licensing my work.
Social Media Sharing
In the case of social media, such as on Instagram, I often share images using hashtags with the intention of having other Instagram accounts feature or re-post my work on the condition that I am credited with a mention linking to my own account. However, unless I am using a hashtag designated by a specific Instagram account, re-posting my work without permission on any service is not permitted. All re-posting of my images without an appropriate license requires attribution.
Direct Clients
I don’t do much direct work as a service; I have too much going on. But, for clients with whom I work directly to produce new work, the terms of the client’s use of that work will be clearly outlined in our contract. In general, clients are granted license to freely use the work that I do for them in virtually any context or any medium, and usually for an unlimited amount of time.
I do maintain legal copyright of all my work in most cases, but depending on our agreement, the license granted may be exclusive, meaning that while I could display the work in my own portfolios, I have agreed not to license it out in other contexts, either indefinitely or for a fixed period of time.
Prohibited Use
No reproduction, sale or display of my work is permitted without my explicit consent or legal license to do so.
If you do have an interest in using my photographs for any purpose, please ask.
